 In 1993 the ship had a fuel fire while steaming pierside at the Chinhae ROKN Navy base pier # 9.  Three ROKN crew members died.  The ship was repaired and continued to serve until decommissioned on August 31, 1998.  The ship was sold for scrap on December 31, 1998
